Hillhouse Care has charitable status and is a non political, non denominational and non judgmental organization.

Hillhouse Care provides, for families in financial difficulties and in receipt of benefits, free, good quality, new children's clothing and equipment for new babies and good quality second hand clothing and equipment for children up to 16 years of age.

Equipment offered can include; Prams, cots, sterilizers, bottle warmers, feeding equipment, Moses baskets, stair gates and high chairs etc.

We are able to provide most, if not all, of the items required for newborns. Clients are given a new born pack, a 0-6 month pack and any additional items they require. New born packs contain only new items; toiletries, clothing, bedding and toys. 0-6 month packs and items for older children contain donated clothing which may be second hand clothing.

Referrals are made through church groups, health workers, social workers and by self referral. Each is personally prepared to fit the client's needs, and clients are encouraged to use our services as required in the future. Any family on low income can benefit from our services. This includes single parents. Grandparents who have care of children would also be eligible to apply for support.

Donations make up the major part of our clothing stock and we welcome donations of good, clean, undamaged items that can be made available through our services. Any unsuitable items are sold in our shops. New items are purchased from monies raised by our shops and our fundraising events. Donations of knitted first sized baby cardigans are warmly welcomed.

Donations of goods may be made directly to Hillhouse Care at Hill Street, Kilmarnock, or by calling at our charity shops at:
122 King Street, Kilmarnock, and
87 Main Street, Auchinleck.

Large items requiring uplift may be arranged by calling us on 01563 523362. The range of goods we can sell in our shops includes; adult and children's clothing, shoes, bags, bric a brac, curtains & bedding, books, CDs, DVDs, pictures, household items and furniture, and toys.
